Preloved.ca – Recycled, Reinvented, Sustainable Clothing
Bobby and I aren’t exactly the fashion experts, but today we learned a little bit about smart consumerism and sustainability. Not sure if you’ve ever heard of Preloved clothing line, but we hadn’t yet and we do now. ;)
We took a stroll down Danforth Ave. (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) and happened to walk into a new store that had opened yesterday. We browsed for a few minutes, looking at the interesting design structures of blouses, skirts, and dresses that lined the edges of the shop. You could get a sense that different patterns and fabrics had been tied together in really interesting ways with each individual piece, yet there was a modern simplicity to most of the pieces. Clean lines, stripes, and plaids were all meshing together in aesthetically wonderful ways.
Come to find out, the Preloved clothing line has been around for 15 years yesterday and the business model revolves around concepts of reinvention and renewal. Each item is one-of-a-kind and made from reclaimed vintage fabrics. Everything is designed and manufactured in Canada – a nice touch for our Canadian friends who can appreciate ethical consumerism and sustainability in their local community.
I can’t remember the Danforth Ave address, but the other store on Queen Street can be found here: 881 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario M6J 1G5, Canada, Tel: 416.504.8704
