Hurricane Gustav: New Orleans Mandatory Evacuation

Hurricane GustavLooks like New Orleans in in for another disaster…and the mayor has issued a mandatory evacuation – everyone has to get out today because there may be storm surges of 15-20 feet and flooding reaching parts of outer lying cities of up to 4 feet.  Which means Mandeville (where Bobby’s brother, mother, and grandmother live) will be in danger.  During Hurricane Katrina, Mandeville didn’t have flooding like St. Bernard…but Gustav is reported to be  worse especially considering all of the coastal erosion 3 years ago.

Lenny, Susie and Dottie all left yesterday for southern Mississippi and I’m hoping this is far enough away to be safe.  We are watching the Weather Channel non-stop right now just trying to see what will happen next.  Very scary.  :(

I’ll be updating every so often.  Maybe we’ll see the Argeantons in Chicago soon.

Well we still don’t know the full updates and neither do Lenny or Susie…they are staying in southern Mississipi and we have talked to them a few times yesterday…everyone is waiting and watching the news hoping that Mandeville is only getting minimal damage and hopefully no flooding…I looked online last night for 2 hours and couldn’t find anything specifically for Mandeville…hopefully tonight I will have a better update.

Jess, why are your parents in Bangladesh? For work?

Can’t wait to see you too!!
